Opportunity for BWIR Engineering Team
New enhancements and features of SolidWorks 2005 software were the focus of presentations by the engineering team from Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR) at the SolidWorks World North America user conference. The conference, held in Orlando, Florida, January 30-February 5, showcased the newest productivity techniques for SolidWorks, the 3D engineering software utilized by SpaceShipOne, the 2004 winner of the X Prize. The week long event includes product showcases, success presentations, networking opportunities, and over 70 breakout sessions.
The BWIR presentation team included Jim Webb, Vice President, BWIR; Senthil Kumar, Engineering Services Manager, BWIR St. Louis; Shaji Shareef, Senior Engineer, Fleetwood; and Mohammed Farid, Design Engineer, BWIR India. Two separate presentations were given to standing-room only audiences.
Senthil and Shaji presented "Design Automation in SolidWorks 2005", introducing attendees to the new features in SolidWorks 2005 targeted specifically to productivity improvement. The session outlined automation tools, keyboard shortcuts and other basic things users could to do increase productivity.
Senthil and Farid presented "Designing Large Machines Using SolidWorks 2005". This presentation outlined the machine design process stages and highlighted areas where SolidWorks can impact the design cycle, especially with large assemblies.
The BWIR team also distributed a CD featuring their own technology designed to enhance the productivity of SolidWorks.
Commenting on the show, Jim Webb, vice president, BWIR, said, "The thousands of household and industrial products designed using 3-D engineering tools is growing at an incredible pace. The SolidWorks user conference was a great opportunity for BWIR to showcase their engineering skills and experience to SolidWorks users from around the globe."
